Community, Inc. (BCI), was founded in 1992 as a 501(c)(3), upon the humble foundations of a soup kitchen that had been operating for ten years out of the basement of Broadway Presbyterian Church located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City in the West Harlem neighborhood.
